Riann's First Black Eye...

...and I'm hoping this will be her last but knowing her, I just can't be sure.

On Tuesday we were hanging out at home waiting to see what the weather did because we were thinking about going to the park. Riann had gotten excited and jumped up on our old TV stand to see what it looked like outside. She was wearing socks and silk PJ's and I'm not sure which caused her to lose her footing but she slipped and came down on the window sill and hit her eye. I'm really grateful it wasn't worse. I think she really could have done some serious damage to her eyeball and all of it's functioning parts. I've been trying to "document" the changes in her eye because I think it will be fun to show her them when she's older. Below are a few photos from the last few days...

The scene of the accident.

Just moments after she hit. Icing her eye.

Day 2

Day 3

Day 4

Day 5

Just like in most cases it's much more colorful in real life. The photos don't do it justice. She's liked watching it change. Every once and a while she'll ask me to show her what it looks like in the mirror. She doesn't let anyone touch it, even though I don't think it hurts anymore. Since her scab came off today it looks a lot better. She's been really good about the whole thing. On the first day she said her head hurt quite a few times but never let me give her Tylenol. I'm glad she's okay though. We are very blessed that it wasn't worse.
